Re: New to TIG and need help

If you are welding tubing and covering the end of the piece of tubing that you are having trouble with, you might be capturing the heated air in the tube with no where for it to escape and it is trying to blow out in the last of the weld. When welding racecar chasis. we drill a small hole in the tub...

Re: tig finger

I purchased a couple tig fingers and like them very much with the exception that the ends fray and you can't use them for very long. I would like to buy more if the problem were fixed.

Re: welding cup

I bought a champayne nozzles from weldtec and I can't get it to work at all. I have tried all different gas flow levels and it doesn't seem to matter at all, until the pressure is so high it blows the shield out of the area. Jody stated in his video, he sent out, that he had to modify the screen ass...

large welding cup problem

Where can a guy get the large grey welding cup that has been used in the past couple new videos?
I weld a lot of cast aluminum that has protected areas and need a lot of tungston stick out.
Help would be appreciated; it looks like that cup would work better than the gas lens I use now.

Re: Tig welding cast iron with alumabronze

I thought Jody might have some imput on this as I see in his presentation he is welding large cast iron parts. I am also welding large pieces and can't submerge them, although I am wraping them in a welding blanket.
Any other ideas?

Tig welding cast iron with alumabronze

My understanding is that welding castiron with alumabronze is a very machineable weld.

I have been trying it and it make a beautiful weld and very strong but I can't even drill or
tap threads in it.

What am I doing wrong?
