Anybody got any preference to BRAND of .030 solid wire to be using with my Handler 140, for mild steel (mostly 1/8" to 3/16" thick, not much sheet metal). Using 75/25 mix, and wondered if plain ol' Harbor Freight .030 spools are adequate, or Miller or Lincoln brand are somehow better quali...

I'm a newbie, too. I opted for the Hobart Handler 140, which can be had (shipped) for about $500 from Northern Tool. I did a lot of reading of reviews, and reviews of the welders before I picked this one. My needs are all hobbyist, and won't (in the NEAR future), be welding more than about 1/4"...
