Tireman, you have a good post here. The one thing that everyone should remember is that "No Employeer is paying you to like it(the job),They are paying you to do it!" I'm retired from over 40+ years working at a Marathon Refinery, and I run into the kids that I left behind, after retiring....

Yeah! I fogot to add, that I'm a newby, 65 years old, and trying to get into a local welding school, and been looking over Lincoln, Hobart, and Miller equiptment. I've been looking at the Eastwood Model 175 Mig Welding Kit. It comes with Auto-Darkening Helmet, welding cart, and 175 Mig welder, under 600 dollars! Has anyone bought, or used one of these Mig Machines, to give an opinion. Also what do you think of their service dept, for after sales help, if need...

Stick Welding Questions ??

When stick welding, I've been told the only real way to get a good weld, was to use a AC/DC Reverse Polarity machine is this true or not? Why is this the best machine? What are the best rods to use on one of these machines, Root-Filler-& Cover? Thanks in advance for you in put Brandy!
