This technology provides a smooth, spatter-free start. The best starting machine in the small MIG category! No pop-gun starts or spatter to clean up. Still I have no problem with this so I can't find the problem with your set.

I appreciate all of the info that you guys have provided me. I'm just starting out so (you're right) I haven't taken many test (only 40 or so all being hodgpog of root/face bends, side bends, macroetch, dye pen, and x-ray) SO FAR! Porosity in welding is a result of dissolved gases or gases released during the welding process, being trapped in the metal when there is insufficient time to escape prior to solidification.

Determine if your tool needs sharpening. Find a professional sharpening service. If you are interested in learning how to sharpen blades yourself, it is recommended that you locate a teacher. Carbide tools require diamond for sharpening, due to their hardness.

Satin coat steel is a very light galvanized coating. I don't know how they do it, but I doubt it is dipped. It is probably sprayed on hot.

Aluminum is the most difficult alloy to weld. Aluminum oxide should be cleaned from the surface prior to welding. Aluminum comes in heat treatable and no heat treatable alloys.
