GSS Gas Saver hose

Has anyone used the GSS gas saver hose from NetWeld? I've looked at their videos and read their literature, but I still can't figure out how it will cut my gas usage. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: argon issue

This is just a thought. I've made this mistake myself. You mentioned you welded some steel. Is it possible you forgot to switch back to A/C after welding the steel. Welding DC- on aluminum, you won't get any cleaning action. All the oxides will float into your puddle. Good luck. Just remembered some...

Re: Getting started in MIG welding - gas or no gas?

Personally, I'd go with gas shielded. I hate chipping and brushing. Also, fluxcore tends to penetrate deeper and run hotter. This can be a good thing if you have developed the skill to deal with it. I would probably start with some simple projects that only require welding on flat surfaces to get a ...

Re: arc pops out

If the wire is welding itself to the contact tip, you may not have enough stickout. Try keeping a little more distance from the work. Another opton is to get a shorter contact tip. One that is recessed inside the nozzle. Let us know what finally cures the problem.

Re: lens size

I've used both small and large and most sizes in between. Once I strike the arc, I never notice any difference. When you'er watching the puddle, you are concentrating on such a small area that the brain tends to disregard anything that isn't important. You didn't mention if you were using a fixed sh...

Re: can i weld 3mm with 90amp mig

To weld 3mm(approx. 1/8") with a 90 amp machine will depend on the Voltage Output of your machine. A good setting would be around 18v and 210ipm wire speed. That wire speed using .030 wire calls for about 80amps, so you will be operating close to it's max output. Measure your wire feed to get c...

Re: Mig Wire feed settings

I know I'm late to the party, but I have one of those Clarke 180's and would like to offer my $.02. I love mine! It's a great little machine if you use it correctly. I run mine on a DEDICATED 60amp circuit that I only use for my welding machines, so it always has plenty of current. You can forget ab...
