Re: Wrinkled surface of weld, carbon steel

i had an odd problem myself. the terrible looking weld appearance would really show up in the last 25% or so of the tank of argon. after fighting what i thought was me.... i had airgas check the bottle. they ran tests on on it and found out there was way too much nitrogen in it. i had got 3 tanks in...

Re: New torch, cable length 12 or 25 ft??

if your buying, strongly consider looking at ck flex lock torch in the photo! it can have have the std. vinal cable or the super flex hose. not only is the rotating head a nice option for any weld, the super flex hose just makes it really easy to be comfortable! i bought one and went a step farther ...

Re: TIG Aluminium Welding - Correct?

im not familiar with that machine, but it appears to me you have too much ac balance. with an inverter machine the idea is to keep a pointed tungsten.

i bought a 250ex machine. when i bought it, i thought i was going to be hard to please, since at work i use a dyasty 700. i am very pleased with my 250ex. it has great low end. great start up. does everything they say. i have never used a power pro 256 or a power tig 185, but from the videos that jo...

this is very interesting! do any of you think the same results could be had by running AC 99% electrode negative?? many of the new inverters can go 90% or higher like the dynasty 700 i use at my work place.

thats what i was using, stripped wire. i welded one hole to test it. after i sanded it off its a match color wise. the bars i got were buss bars. any electrical copper is usually 99% copper. the same for electrical wire. the filler rods ive seen were not 99% copper. at my job i weld bronze with copp...

some people may disagree with me, but i say, if your a beginner, leave the pulse off. until you master the basics it just complicates things with more settings. just my thoughts.

Re: Bronze welding

i tig weld bronze where i work. we use these rods called ampco-trode. they are red in color and look like copper. i am not 100% positive, but i think harris makes them. i thought i would toss this in there if the silicon bronze rods don't match the color of your alloy you would have another option t...
