Re: Adapter cord for Lincoln V160T?

Geez! Power is so much easier in Australia. You have 240V 50Hz single phase. Outlets can be 10, 15 or 20 Amp and the plugs to suit have different size terminals. All the plugs will fit a 20 amp outlet, the 10 and 15 amp plug will fit a 15 amp outlet, and the 10 amp outlet will only accept 10 amp plu...

Re: What Exactly Is Lift Arc???

My DC machine is lift TIG.
It works quite well. Touch the tungsten where you want to start the weld, hit the trigger then lift the torch slightly. A small faint spark jumps the gap, ionizing it and then the current flows.

Yep. I'm more than happy with it. Even drag it to work with me instead of using the welder there.

Ok, after a bit more digging around the Thermadyne website, it looks like the closest product to my Cigweld 175i in America is the Thermal Arc 181i. http://www.thermadyne.com/Thermal%20Arc ... /index.php

Re: Carport gate project

Thank you. I painted the gate before fitting the trellis. The trellis is already in that colour which made the whole job a lot easier. It's funny you mention it being square. I spent a lot of time on that and then when Mum inspected the finished product I got a "it's crooked!" At this poin...

Carport gate project

Hi, thought I'd share a couple of pics of the gates I welded up for my Mum's house to keep the dog off her new car. They're made of rectangular tube, mitre joins in each corner, with lengths of flat bar welded to the back to provide a lip for the plastic trellis to be bolted against. All welds are m...
