seems to be one pass with filler is the best way to go

found this articale today which was a good read,

stainless steel exhaust

hey guys

im keen to have a go at doing a stainless steel exhaust
the thing that is confussing as ive looked around some people just fuse the joints, others fuse and then go over with filler after its cooled down
and some do it one pass with filler.

whats the best way to do it?

Interesting :) The cold saw I was lookin at was about 800 bucks, and this thing is about half the price. Looks like I'll have to do some research. what was the other saw you where looking at? im trying to find more info on these aswell, im intrested know how square they cut stainless pipe best i co...

is that the same blade the sparky's use to cut their conduit? I was lookin at buyin somethin like that but am lookin at a cold saw instead. i dont think so, could be wrong these use a tungsten carbide-tipped blade come in 70-and 90 tooth i assume for mild and stainless applications im told these ar...

anyone used these new style multipurpose cut off saws?

been looking at the dewalt one and looks good
just want to know how well they go with cutting true

ive got a few more pipes to practice on, hopefully get a constitant straw colour after a few

i think the HAZ to the laft was from the veiwing angle, i might try bing up a bit higher when i weld,
i was welding the way i was loking in the first picture if that makes sense

finally got a chance to give it another go this afternoon.

using a gas lense up with a number 8 cup with 13-14 l

Sorry I'm real bad with metric conversions. 3mm is damn near 1/8 ", I thought it was alot less than that(like 16 guage). If your runnin about 3/4 pedal off 100 amps thats 75 amps, and that should be ballpark where you want to be heat wise. If your not running a gas lense setup, the way I was t...

What are your amps set at and whats the alloy of the pipe? When your doin stainless the rod will tend to get stuck in the puddle, but you cant have to much amperage cause youll just burn up the pipe(which it sounds like is happenin to you). You gotta be quick with your rod and just feed it in more,...
