Re: Everlast vs Miller Foot control

There was a thread at Everlast on changing the fool pedal and using one from these guys. I am waiting on my 250EX to come in on Tuesday. After I play a while I will look at changing the torch and the pedal.

Re: How much power?

Watch the input power. Unless you are looking at the XMT line you will need most likely 100A of 240VAC or three phase power to run those machines. I will agree. Seen the XMT for less tban $1K. But, it is DC only.

Re: new alum gas tank for boat

What size tank? May want to consider baffles in the tank to keep the fuel from shifting during turns. Nothing like all that weight shifting to the outside of a boat to give the operator a little pucker factor. Also, if you use AL, remember to keep any ferrous material away from the tank. It's a real...

Weldcraft recommends 1 to 1.4 quarts per minute at 50psi for their torches.

Re: Issue using a Gas Lense

Are you using the same flow rate with the gas lens as you were before? I may be wrong but, you should be using less flow rate on the shielding gas.

Re: Everlast Power Pro 256

I was also looking at the Dynasty 200DX. However, on single phase power the TIG output is 150A @ 60% duty cycle and the stick is 130A at a 20% duty cycle. And, the price of over $4k bones was getting harder to swallow. Ordered a Everlast 250EX instead.

Re: First TIG Machine

The Miller Syncrowave 200 Runner package is $1980 and the Lincoln PT 225 is $2195. However, the Miller needs 54A (60A Circuit) and the PT 225 nees 42A (50A Circuit). I have decided for the PT 225. Now just have to break out with the cash and get off the fence. Last TIG I did was in the Navy with a P...

Re: First TIG Machine

Kerndawg, The thing that they have in common is around the same price point. Yes, the 250EX is an inverter. Just not comfortable with the corporate history yet on that make. It may be a fine welder just not a lot of buyer confidence in me. The welder will be for personal use and the reason that I wa...

First TIG Machine

All, Looking to buy my first TIG machine. I have narrowed it down to the Lincoln Precision TIG 225, The MILLER Syncrowave 200 or an Everlast 250EX. The concern with the Everlast is length of time the company has been in the welder business, and will they be around to honor the 5 year warrenty? The E...

Try blowing some air under low pressure from the gun end to clean out your liner also.

Re: Lincoln Tig 185 Bad News

Pull the board out and see if you can read the part number of the pot. Check on-line to find the part and a little soldering to change. Don't use too much heat on the board. Remember, it's soldering and not welding. The new pot shouldn't be more than $5.

Re: Everalst 250EX - Arrived

How is the Everlast still running? Any more problems with the unit? I'm looking at the Miller Diversion 180 as my TIG unit and just can't seem to not consider anything but a Red or Blue unit.

Re: Buying Gas and Supplies

I was looking to buy a bottle of C-25 and checked Tractor Supply. Was quoted close to $300 to buy the 80 cu ft tank and a fill of gas. Called the local Airgas shop and was quoted $135 to buy the tank and the fill was $38.15. Arcet wanted $211 for the same. So, Airgas is getting my business. While I ...

Have you checked to make sure you are using the correct tip size for the wire you are feeding?
