Both at once but to be fair it needed new points either way.

Re: Syncrowave appears to have no cleaning action.
This got put a bit of the back burner while I sorted some health stuff and had a surgery among other things. While I at it over christmas I ordered all new points assembly and everything so now that I am a bit more "alive" will put it all back together. While I am at it just because I am i...

Re: Syncrowave appears to have no cleaning action.
Is there any chance you changed bottles since the last time you welded aluminum with this machine? A while back I swapped bottles and for a short time only welded on steel. The first time I tried aluminum it was awful....black soot, hardly a bead, etc. Luckily, I have multiple bottles and tried the...

Re: Syncrowave appears to have no cleaning action.
Well I found one problem. I’ll clean all this up and get rid of the corrosion and put in new fasteners. The points according to the manual are the same as in the Dynasty 700, same part number.

You can get on off switches. I have one for when I don’t want to use the pedal on my Syncrowave.

Re: Syncrowave appears to have no cleaning action.
Not an expert, but the following are some things I would try if I had this problem -Make sure the scrap/test piece is a weldable alloy (2024 & 7075 don't weld well at all, for example). If you have some test pieces that welded OK in the past with this machine, they would be pretty good to try a...

Syncrowave appears to have no cleaning action.
Have to do some maintenance on my Syncrowave as have not encountered this before. It’s a 350LX pre slant front. Last time I welded aluminium with it which was a while back everything worked fine. Went to weld some today and as I normally do pulled out some scrap pieces I keep for doing test arcs one...

Haha I’ll hold thoriated tungsten between my lips like one would a toothpick if I have to sharpen a few. In fact I did once use thoriated tungsten as a tooth pick. It really isn’t that radioactive. Radioactivity is in a lot of things when you seriously look into various metallurgy subjects. If you w...

Re: More New Lighting! And some history numbers.
People don’t realise how efficient LED’s are. I have LED’s in my shop and house and it’s funny to think that all the bulbs in my house combined use the same wattage as the one of the incandescent bulbs I used back in the day. I can’t say in overly sentimental towards lighting unless I’m going for an...

Declassified Documents involving welding.
Here is some light reading. Type in any kind of topic in this search and you will find something. I had some fun reading about the Soviets use of titanium back in the day.

Re: Stupidly overkill welding table project.
It might serve you well to add leveling feet to it. I’ve yet to see a shop floor that was flat and level unless it had a metal surface plate shot in. If you ever start punching holes in the top for clamps, you will want added stringers across the width of that table to prevent any sag. Solely havin...

Re: Stupidly overkill welding table project.
how on earth are you moving that huge weight around ? I put a thread for an eye bolt in the centre of the top and will move it with an engine crane but it will only be moved from where I’m painting to where it will stay permanently or at least where it will live for now. I have no reason to move th...
