Re: CFH... where do you set it?

You mentioned that your pea shooter tester was a CK. If the flow meter/regulator you are using is the one that came with your Everlast machine, then it is likely a piece of junk. I would trust the CK part over a no-name part every single time. It's a CK flow meter/regulator in use. & fwiw - the...

Re: CFH... where do you set it?

Thanks Oscar and Jack. I'm using an Everlast 255EXT. I contacted Everlast tech support and they supplied the procedure to find a leak(s). I'll remove the shroud tomorrow morning and see what gives. Will check several torches, also. Curious though, have you checked the cfh at the torch against what w...

CFH... where do you set it?

At the flow regulator or the torch? I've a CK flow tester (pea shooter) and notice quite a drop - some times 7 cfh between the flow regulator and the torch. I've been testing the machine for leaks and so far have found none. Haven't tested the torch or hose yet. However, this seems to be true with s...

Re: looking into TIG welding equipment

A great starter machine is the PrimeWeld 225x. It will handle all common metals, includes torch, foot pedal, hoses, regulator & etc. Even a stinger in case you want to stick weld. Real good price.

Re: Miller MDX 100/Tweeco 150 for Pulse

Oscar, thanks for the information! Very much appreciated.

Think I'll stay with the Tweco gun and use it non-pulsed. It works just fine on the 255.

And fwiw - the contact tips for the MDX-250 are heavy duty compared to the ones for the Tweco and my old 212.

Re: Miller MDX 100/Tweeco 150 for Pulse

Would use mainly for the roll cage, etc on my Jeep: .18 and .12 DOM. Miller does not list amperage for the pulse setting. They give a wfs of 270 and 330 using .035 wire for metal thickness of 1/8" and 3/16". I have used the Tweco to weld similar thickness of tube and plate without problems...

Miller MDX 100/Tweco 150 for Pulse

I have a Millermatic 255 and want to use a smaller gun. Am wondering if a Tweco 150 can be used with pulse welding because I have one. Or if it won't work, would a Miller MDX 100 be adequate?

Re: First TIG Weld - Weld Table Caster Frame

Looking good & hope you enjoy the setup. When I first started welding, I was using a mig machine and built a welding table with shelving underneath it. It worked well because I was always standing while welding. Now that I have gotten into tig welding, the shelving presents a problem because I u...

Re: Everlast 210ex vs Ck worldwide mt200

fwiw - there is a digital tig welder made by the same company (Jasic, I believe) that makes the CK machine that costs less and has similar specs: https://annextools.com/welding/products/razorweld-200d-acdc-digital-tigarc-inverter-complete?gclid=CjwKCAjwxuuCBhATEiwAIIIz0QiBePn6FX2g8ndLzvAZug2CWU-a2qT...

Re: Everlast 210ex vs Ck worldwide mt200

I was interested in the CK machine when I was upgrading from a Primeweld 225, however as Spartan pointed out it's analog and I wanted digital and the CK seemed lacking in features. At the time the Everlast 255EXT was the same price as the CK or less depending on who was selling it. I chose the 255EX...

Re: 2021 Everlast Powertig 210EXT AC Welding Problem

I have an Everlast 255EXT and purchased it new February 2020. Previously, I had a Primeweld 225 - good machine, but I wanted digital control. I've been tig welding for about 1 1/2 years. Anyway... I have had ZERO ISSUES with the machine and practiced 1 -3 hours per day until recently (life gets in t...

Re: Call it good? Suspension Link Rod Ends

Everyone, thanks for the comments. Quite valuable to me. G-ManBart: think I'll leave well enough alone and not do a weave pass. Am not too good at those yet and risk messing things up. Not to be mean, but that means you really shouldn't be welding on steering components. It's not really an area for...

Call it good? Suspension Link Rod Ends

Am making some new suspension links for my Jeep after one of them failed due to poor mig welds on my part. Well... they looked good. From what I can tell, I didn't put enough heat into the bungs. So this time, I'm tig welding things. The links are 1 3/4" x .125 dom with 2 opposing 7/16" ho...

Re: Which machine

I'm a tig newby - been at it about 1 year. Would like to suggest (as others have) the Primeweld machine. That's what I started with. Great welder and pricing. After 5 months, I wanted digital and more features. Purchased an Everlast 255EXT. Am extremely pleased with it. Price was a factor in my deci...

Howdy

I'm a hobby welder. Got started because I'm an off-roader that breaks/bends stuff - mostly metal. Am looking to increase my welding skills and knowledge. Have taken several adult school night welding classes. Have been mig welding about 10 years and tig welding about 1 year. Happy to be a new member...
