Re: Another new member from Queensland, Australia

With regards to what you mentioned about 1.5mm sq tube, use 1.6mm or 2.0mm E6013s and ZERO gap, and you will be able to do it. I gave the 1.6mm E6013's a try today on the 1.5mm sq tube. Set the welder to 30amps DCEP and it worked great. I only blew through in a couple of places because I went too s...

Re: Plasma Cutter vs Cold Saw

For me I would go with the cold saw first. Being able to cut accurate miters would be a big plus for me before I got a plasma cutter. I don't have a cold saw, yet, but I've got a Evolution Rage3 miter saw which I have been using for wood working. I'm planning to use it to cut up some steel tube in t...

Re: Another new member from Queensland, Australia

Welcome Sergio. With regards to what you mentioned about 1.5mm sq tube, use 1.6mm or 2.0mm E6013s and ZERO gap, and you will be able to do it. E6011 does run on a lot of lower voltage DC stick welders, but I have heard of some people having issues. Post up more info/pictures in a thread in the SMAW...

Another new member from Queensland, Australia

Hey everyone, I think like a heap of other people I've used COVID-19 as the push I needed to get out and try welding. It's something I've always wanted to do so a few weeks ago I went a bought myself a stick welding setup. I've been playing around with some scrap steel and some different electrodes ...
