Re: Vulcan slip on flux core nozzle

I was just wondering if anyone uses this vulcan nozzle and what machine it fits. Is it special for the HF machines. That info would be great.

Vulcan slip on flux core nozzle

Hey guys I have a generic mig 135 machine. I use the lincoln electric flux core nozzle tip it fits the threads on my machine. I burn these up because they are so cheap. The vulcan nozzles seem a bit heavier duty but they are not threaded. Is there a special diffuser or part that will make these work...

Re: Low hydrogen What?

Very good info, this is not critical I am just welding a plate of medium steel onto some mild. Just don't want it falling off.

Re: Noob Welding in a Van

Oh boy this guy is a total noob. Ok OP take it from a former noob that started welding on his ride, take the gas out of the gas tank if you are anywhere near lines or the tank or engine bay. It will keep you calmer while welding to know your not on a rocket to heaven or hell. At harbor freight they ...

Re: Acetetyne rose bud problem

The rosebud requires a lot of gas, and I mean a lot. You need a nuetral flame and you have to follow same procedure as setting up a welding torch ie. featherd flame and then adjust to nuetral. Don't be scared to really crank it up. Also I have had tanks from Airgas namely that like to fluctuate for ...

Re: Low hydrogen What?

Thanks for the replies guys I will bake it on the plastic spool as per Lincolns website at 150 degrees and use pre/post heat per the specs of the AR400 plate. This is the NR-211 MP wire that they sell at the Home Depot.

Re: 1/2" AR400 plate weld to railroad track

Have you done any metallurgic analysis on the AR400 steel. 1/2' might not be worth a carrot on top of track, even. I did try some rebound test on 1/4 plate and the rebound was worse than a plate of 1'' A36, had potential in the 64% range next to where I had it clamped real tight to a thick piece of ...

Low hydrogen What?

I have been reading on the interwebs and thumbing through my welding textbook is this just a problem with stick welding. I always assumed that flux core wire was safe from the elements. Now my textbook says you may have to recondition wire you have purchased that has been poorly stored ie, at home d...
