Re: DIY and stuff like that...
Great idea. It already exists. No welding forum would be rightfully called as such without one. :) I know that, that's why I posted the topic in this topic section. But I was thinking more like section dedicated to DIY projects. Here I can see a lot of weld repairs, jobsite projects, welding proble...

Re: Getting cooled! What torch #20 or #18?
I recently purchased a Weldtec 20 series watercooled torch. I got the flex head, rated 225 amps. Fairly cheap and much nicer than the air cooled 26,I was using. So much lighter and cooler! The ck flexlok does look like a very maneuverable torch too! and the weldtec has the roto head type as well. 20...

I'm $160 for a 330 argon exchange. $85 year rent
$62 for a 244 oxy exchange and $80 for rent
Canada, can't believe how cheap some are getting gas for in the US

Re: Heavy Welder choice question?
Tot he people saying use the dynasty to arc gouge.. would you not be worried about damaging the machine? I'm under the impression it can be rough on the machines, dynasty is big $$ to screw up
As far as stick welding goes though I'd just plug into the dynasty and use that

Re: Lincoln Aspect230 impressions
I purchased a Aspect 230 last fall. I am just a hobbyist as far as tig welding goes. I was initially set on the square wave 200, but saved up for a while longer for the 230, I felt the extra amps and adjustable would be well worth it especially in the future as I get better and more able to use ever...

Re: HTP PP220 vs MM255
Nick, my spending decisions are generally less about money and more about value, so this one is kinda tricky because in my business, I can't see a mig EVER being used as a money-making tool. Maintenance too? Yes. But this will never be a welding shop where mig jobs come in. So I'm hesitant to overs...

Re: HTP PP220 vs MM255
I don't have experience with either machine, but if you can swing it, I'd buy the one you really want even if it's more than what you necessarily need. Long as it's not going to put you in the poor house, I'd go for bigger/more featured then you never say"I wish I bought the better one"

Looks good, "run whatcha brung" as we used to say at the drag strip! Meaning you gotta use whatever ya got on hand. :) Yup, and i'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I see you have quite the line up of welders! I had strongly considered the 221 invertig but ended up with the aspect mos...

Re: Another Welder cart
Have you ever used a dynasty? Could you post a review of your aspect? Disregard if its not an ac/dc tig machine. I've had my dynasty for 4 years and its getting a ton of hours on it. I'm thinking of picking up another but I want to consider the comparable Lincoln model. So i'm still pretty green wi...

Re: Htp tig
Do you have a budget? I was looking to get into tig for a few years, And personally I had considered a cheaper Chinese machine, but quickly decided not a chance, just didn't want to end up with a cheap quality welder. But it's personal opinion there, and understandably hard to spend lots on name bra...

Re: Lincoln Aspect 230 AC/DC vs HTP 221 Invertig AC/DC
Either will do more far more than you'll need them to, I'd go with the Aspect 230 if I didn't care about the price difference simply for a higher duty cycle and 10 more amps. What do you suspect you'll be welding? I will likely start off with mild steel. Various home projects. But eventually I woul...

Learning tig
I've been stick and mig welding for about 8 years, always wanted to do tig, finally saved up enough and bought a lincoln aspect 230 ac/dc. Hardest part for me has been dipping the tungsten when adding filler and feeding the filler between my fingers. Heres a pic of a better bead i ran, I didn't get ...

Re: powermig 300 wire feed issues
Well it seems better now, With new wire cleaned drive rollers and the liner is pretty much too as well. I find it slips when the tension is in the lower half of the adjustment, crank it down more and it's fine.. I have been hesitant on tightening it too much for the extra stress on the motor but the...

Re: powermig 300 wire feed issues
Yep All of that is correct. It seems better now with new wire, time will tell if it stays that way.
Even when I changed out the liner the old one didn't seem dirty when I blew it out nothing came out, but replaced it anyway.

Re: powermig 300 wire feed issues
Yeah I have the proper size rollers. .035. I really don't switch wire size. I have a set of .045 too but don't need the larger wire. I'm not a total novice when It comes to welding, But mostly do stick welding. If I encounter more issues with the feeding I'm thinking next it'll be new rollers. And t...

Re: powermig 300 wire feed issues
I switched liners after the bad wire. I then ran some other old wire that wasn't rusty but still feeding not the best. I picked up a 12 pound roll of L56 .035 and tried it today.. Seems better now. I am welding with straight co2 so a bit harder to dial it in perfectly. I have heard of running 1 roll...

Re: powermig 300 wire feed issues
So I meant to say it's uncoated wire/bare steel. Cleaning the drive rolls now, I think they've got some rust/dust build up from the previous roll of dirty wire. I'm probably just going to buy a 8 inch / 12.5 pound spool of new copper coat er70-s6 and eliminate that factor. This wire is quite a numbe...

powermig 300 wire feed issues
Hi, So been having issues with feeding .035 steel wire in the powermig 300 and magnum 300 gun This welder always use to be used for aluminum with the push pull gun by my dad for his aluminum fab business. He doesn't do that anymore so the welder is just used periodically. It doesn't want to feed nic...

Re: Invertig 221 in canada
I'm in the same boat as you, from central manitoba. Exchange rate was a deal killer for me. I did go with the square wave tig 200 and would really recommend against it. I feel Lincoln cut ways too many corners on it, would definently not buy again. Sent from my SM-G970W using Tapatalk Thanks For th...

Invertig 221 in canada
Hi everyone, I have been casually looking into a tig welder.. We used to have a big syncrowave 351 that was in a package deal with other equipment but never got used much and took too much input power. Looking into a smaller machine, AC/DC and leaning towards a inverter. Would like to be 200 plus am...
