Re: New circular saw
Thanks for this info. That particular model seems like a pretty good option for plate especially.

Re: Questions from a complete beginner - what kind of weldin
Hi, I found this interesting, especially since I used to be a pretty good guitar player lol. I would say that titanium can only be Welded to titanium, but I imagine that isn't 100% true anymore. Just know that if you are talking about joining titanium to anything but titanium, you are getting into s...

Re: My biggest fear as a newbie
For anyone else who may be wondering, I'll say that yes, there is absolutely a difference from machine to machine in low end performance. However, I don't know of any machine under $3,500 or so that has great low end performance. With that said, my machine does not shine when it comes to starting or...

Re: Let's Talk Color
I've heard the same thing that spartan mentioned about the colors being caused by varying thicknesses of oxide layers, whether the oxides are Chromium, titanium, or otherwise. I will say also that even if you have perfect shielding gas coverage, impurities will also prevent a "color-free",...

Update
Thanks again, fellas. I ended up just buying the cooler that could interface with my machine, for cost and for fear of forgetting to turn on a separately powered cooler and burning up my CK20 torch haha. I’m extremely glad I got it, I’ve welded lots of super long runs on really thick aluminum lately...

Re: CBN Wheels for TIG Electrode Grinding
Has anyone had experience with both diamond and CBN? I have just bought an 8" bench grinder, the JET 578008, and I am torn between the two abrasives, as I have never tried CBN. I'm also hard-pressed to find any information to compare the two. If anyone has any insight into this subject, I'm ver...

Re: WANTED: WATER COOLER UNIT
Thanks guys. I appreciate the ideas. I'll at least find out what it would take to build one and if nothing else, I'll be very entertained and maybe learn a thing or two.

WANTED: WATER COOLER UNIT
I’m currently looking for a water cooler unit & a 20 series TIG torch for my machine at home. My power source only goes up to 210 amps, so I don’t NEED a massive cooler, and I would like to be able to fit it in the bottom tray of my welding cart. If anyone on the forum happens to have any water ...

Re: HTP Invertig 221 Dual Voltage Water Cooled
I think he's yankin' our chains; it doesn't look like he wants to sell, lol. Haha, well although we may lose a good deal, hopefully he's considering keeping his setup to dive into the art of TIG welding. I hope that he does find a way to continue, even if I have to stack up another check for a new ...

Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum, happy to be here
Hello everyone! I’m Alex Weeks, 23 year old welder/Machinist/student. I’ve been really at this for less than 2 years, I’m doing my best to become a valuable member of the community, and I have a very long way to go with that. I work part time as a welder/fabricator in a very small shop as one of two...
