The hood and mask might work but if you strap a backpack welder to your shoulders and are walking around with a torch in one hand, could see possibilities of at least being questioned. [emoji106][emoji106]

Re: Welding cart build
Excellent work.
I think we think alike to a degree. I will be posting more projects soon. I have more experience with woodwork and landscape than metal.
Keep up the good work. You got a solid grasp on thinking outside the box.

Re: Just added an HTP ProPulse 200 to my arsenal
Oscar, I think your collection of welders is amazing. However you state that you are a hobbyist welder in your profile. My question is are you a salesman or showroom for USA Weld or HTP? With all due respect your level of personal gear for welding far eclipses the norm for a hobby. Please do not tak...

If you want some very good practical information for just starting and deciding what to buy. https://youtu.be/JmwzAhvzrIE I think the series of welding videos from Askwoodman on YouTube is exceptional. When you find his channel go to the playlists section you will find the welding playlist. Watch th...

Re: Getting started
These are just random thoughts. You say you have three years until you have the foot hold to establish yourself independently. Maybe don't worry about the machines you will need then. 1. Maybe look at getting budget equipment now and by the time you are ready to go solo at least you will fully under...

Re: Vise Grip Crank Handles
Chuck, Great idea. My favorite vise grip style clamp is a Strong Hand drill press clamp, it came with a factory crank handle. Like the one’s you added. It’s my favorite because of the crank. Now that I have seen your idea I will retrofit the few other miscellaneous vise grips with a crank handle. Ki...

Re: Weld to plate laying on concrete - bad idea?
Usually in a situation like this you would drill and epoxy the anchor studs, and pre weld the verticals to the base plates and double nut the plates, one below and one on top. That way you can adjust the verticals to plumb with the double nuts and raise the plate as needed for drainage. then pack i...

Re: Hello from newbie welder
Yeah, the goal being lots of "fairly organized storage" with the least effort. Was using the drawer cabinet pictured on a wooden dolly for a few months for just my Hobart Mig welder. Then I was itching for the TIG machine and couldn't spare any room for another full cart. So I welded toget...
