Re: Metal and heat
My current job is welding carbon steel pipe of many sizes (usually 12'' and smaller) with multiple passes. Switching between work is good advice. Is there a general rule about interpass temps? I would love to have a number in my head. Every project I've done in the past I've just guestimated and wou...

Metal and heat
Hey, I was wondering if anyone has any advice about letting metal cool before tackling it again. I've done small diameter pipe, thick plate as well as many other projects and have learned to let them cool before getting back at it. But I don't really know when or what temperature the metal should be...

Question about tig torch options
I recently did my first legit pipe test for a job :D , and they had a great tig torch. I've done plenty of fab work and have seen some great options on tig torches such as flex head, water cooled and thumb amp adjusters. The torch I used for the pipe test had a great handle, I'm thinking it was made...

Stainless 6G Question
So, I graduated welding school and have been searching for the right job since. 3 years of "job shops" as they call them around here have been decent work but not what I've been looking for. I finally got lined up for a test I've been looking for and it's a stainless 6g test on 2 inch pipe...
