Old Century 100 Mig Welder parts
Hey all.. been a while since I posted anything. I had a friend who wanted to see if I could get this old welder to work for 115v GMAW use. I checked most things and it all worked fine with FC wire... then onto switching polarity and I noticed I don't have a nozzle for this diffuser. I contacted Cent...

Need to find this part
this is from a flowmeter.. female 5/16-18 and female 9/16-18 (not 100% sure on 9/16 size) I need to purchase just this part but I cant find it anywhere online. only matching sizes like both are 5/16-18. they are pretty common on most flowmeters and regulators I believe but like I said I cant find ju...

Re: Silicon Bronze & AL Bronze
To the OP, where in NC are you? If you just want a couple of sticks, maybe I can help. Thanks but that's allright, Ill get some ordered soon. I don't have a lot of time to mess with it anyway right now due to high volume at work. I am central NC. near a little town called Star. Thanks very much for...

Re: Silicon Bronze & AL Bronze
FYI, for the Al bronze you want A2 for welding, A1 is not for joining If you haven't been to the Harris website it is a very valuable source of info for filler materials, soldering, brazing and welding. The link will land you on the SilBronze page, on the left you'll see the listing of all their pr...

Re: Silicon Bronze & AL Bronze
I looked on the website and 1lb of Silicon Bronze was 9.95 a pound but shipping was also about the same amount. So 20 bucks for 1 pound seemed kinda high to me. I was going to head to the Airgas store today which is about 35 miles from me but they're closed sat and sun. I am in NC and there isnt rea...

Silicon Bronze & AL Bronze
I am wanting to purchase a small amount of each of these rods for tooling around in my spare time and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a certain brand name to start with and perhaps where to buy.

Re: is this too much cfh?
3/32 blue tungsten #7 gas lens 1/16 308 filler I thought the flowrate was about 15cfh but come to think of it I didn't check. I know someone else used the welder prior to me welding this and that may have been changed. Good Idea to always check that as well. I didn't think about it not having enough...

is this too much cfh?
this soot looking stuff, is it caused by flowrate too high or travel speed too slow or just too much heat? what can you tell me about this weld please. I believe it was welded with 110 Amps at nearly full pedal the whole run also

Re: Rule of 33
Just from what I have done so far on practice scrap material aluminum, carbon, and stainless.. it seem more useful than not. It has made up my mind on what the new machine I plan to buy must have. The slower pulse rate is what I think I have been playing with adding filler on the light up slope and ...

Rule of 33
Hello I have been studying and practicing all that I can with TiG welding and I noticed in the videos Jody's rule of 33. Seems to be a good rule to remember for certain thickness material and whatnot's but I seem to have found a problem with the machine I currently have access to (pictured below). W...

Re: TiG Filler Size Question
Fist off, those all look really good. Color is the presence of heat, the deeper the color, the hotter the base metal is/was. More gas shielding creates less color to an extent. For your fillet welds, the gas is covering more of the surrounding area than on a lap weld. That’s often why lap joints ge...

Re: TiG Filler Size Question

Thanks to all that replied. With the issue I am having using 1/8" filler sticking to the workpiece.. I just heard a guy say in a youtube video that dipping too far into the puddle will cause that. So I will try again asap and see if I can fix my issue. I use a standard 7 or 8 cup for everything...
