Depending on the size of the material, I will use either a 6x48 or 2x72 belt sander with 36-80 grit belts.
I understand the comment on filling a gap but with my welding skill (or lack there of), I do use the sander to get as close a fit as I can.

Re: Autodarkening
Thanks Josh. It is the best helmet that Princess Auto sells. (Canadian HF). About $250 vs Miller at $300.
I set the sensitivity as high as it goes and the delay at long. Good thought on the battery. I swapped it out for a new and no help.

Autodarkening
So I purchased a new helmet that has four sensors and is specified to be good to 5 amps DC.
I am still getting flashed when it does not darken at 100 amps DC.
Works fine on AC and works fine on stick.
Is there something I should be checking before I take it back for a refund?
Thanks
Jim

New to TIG
Hi, I have been using a basic 3M Speed glass helmet for MIG welding for the last several years. Seems to work OK for most jobs but do have to say that I get flashed not rarely. I bought a new multi system and yesterday was trying out the TIG on some steel. Didn't go so well. The lens would only infr...

Re: Drill to Mill?
Hey y’all! But there’s a package of golden ones I have no idea what they are. Some kind of brass maybe? No stamps on them, nothing. More yellow than Sil Bronze. I’ll probably toss them unless you guys wanna guess what they are. There’s abou 20 1/8 rods like that. From the picture, they appear to be...
