Re: Convert 2 pin tig torch to scratch start?
Thanks mate. You gave me the confidence to connect it and try. Ended up running my gas through the old welder so the trigger still works and then my new arc welder connected to it. Now i have a scratch start tig with button gas. Only problem is both machines need to run but i can gut the inside of m...

Re: Convert 2 pin tig torch to scratch start?
Im confused here i think.
Perhaps its the gas feed that completes the main connection and this 2 pin connector is only for the tig button?
In which case i cant see this torch setup working with a scratch start until i get a new torch with the dins.

Convert 2 pin tig torch to scratch start?
I killed my tig machine a few days ago so wanted to convert my little arc welder into a scratch start unit. My arc welder has the standard Dinse type connectors. My tig torch has a screw connector with 2 pins similar to below image. https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1GOI7MVXXXXcZaXXXq6xXFXXXd/2pcs-2-pin...

Re: Gas lens no good?
Its a little hard to justify shipping unfortunately, however i may just bite the bullet. I trust Jodies products no question. He is a legend and i expect he would never put his name to something apart from quality. https://www.boc.com.au/wcsstore/AU_BOC_CatalogueAS/images/product/en_AU/large/b45v25....

Re: Gas lens no good?
Thankyou for your help guys. I decided to do a couple of tests last night. First i simply blew air through my normal setup then the gas lens. Gas lens felt very restricted compared to the standard setup i had. So i decided to cut one open and see whats up with them. Rough cutting has made it a littl...

Gas lens no good?
Hey all. I purchased a "cheap" online gas lens kit as below. http://oi66.tinypic.com/28thund.jpg Seems like an ok unit? Well every time i try weld with it i get horrible welds. Green flame, sparks and a wandering arc. Here is an example. Please dont hate me for i can not weld worth a shit!...
