Re: Fine Setting

I am curious , on many inverters, the voltage have no regulation or display.

But , is not the arc force function raising the voltage ? The "dig" function have a role or is it only when volts go low as arc shorten
Too much ( if I am not wrong) ?

Re: 7018 basic tips

Dave suggest a high ampere range, is it to make a specific welding technique where the welder moves fast ( I suppose any experienced welder will finally work fast) ? May be also, once mastering the slow motion , it may be less tiring to speed up ( seem to me that the stress may help to concentrate ...

Re: 7018 basic tips

Focus on your puddle. Notice how if you change your angle or speed, the shape of the puddle changes slightly. It becomes narrower or wider or taller or whatever. Focus on keeping that puddle the exact, exact same size and shape as you move along. This is why so many veteran welders say things like ...

Re: Hammer, air compressor and anything else my mind is baki

Air should be dry and if possible oiled. A simple trick to condensate the water from compressed air is to use a good lenght of at least 1/2 ' copper tubing, in a barrel full of water. It takes the warm sir from compressor tank and cools it so the water goes out. It is then trapped with a specific fi...

Re: Hammer, air compressor and anything else my mind is baki

I use a "palm nailer " , brand Danair Lifetime guarantee , gaskets pockets available . This tool do not use much air, the way I use it ( nailing tuning pins in a pinblock). A certain FLOW of air is necessary for any pneumatic tool. If the compressor do not deliver it the tool can only work...

Re: 7018 basic tips

Something I do not understand If I raise the hot start feature from 20 to 40 , the 7018 tend to stick . I have no idea why . Is it because a blob of metal is ejected from the rod due to too much tension ? Also I have sometimes the slag looking like that: https://goo.gl/photos/FVE8kh6QPPCKVn2b7 The w...

Re: looking for a sketch of control box Kempotig 250 AC DC

It is OK I find the sketch . What I did not have is a sketch of the elements in remote control box but having the ones for the welder it is identical. I find some of the pinning too . So, still interested in the wiring sketch of a similar remote control box . Thanks Kemppi brand, made in Finland, is...

Re: looking for a sketch of telecom for KEMPPI

Hello .

Electrical drawing of a remote control box , then the pins to interface with that kemppi 250 ac/dc should be useful of course.

I don't think there is software yet on that era remote control box anyway.

Thank you for the useful tricks and ideas ;) I will test the stabilizing hand, indeed difficult to stay without moving when the hood is down (learned a new word, thanks ;) I generally use only one hand, but the second one helped nicely for the block, when in the end I switched back to one hand (but ...

Re: opinions - quality on 2F X block 6013

Whip and pause is for 6010 and 6011. Steady straight drag is all that is required on easy flat beads like those. Yes I know that, I wanted to level the bead above that portion, https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/GyYvFwJXCqyF5UDRj2GJgkOA_mLp68FWA-OEl9Eh7eGv2DsmHWZzjOP23QqhczoqxsekrnPDMNTnWQm9Ye5-a7fv...

whip and pause, as the angle underside was a little strong and not very clean that is my 3d month, of training alone, so I am a little slow, but not so young (just in the head ;) I did some decent restarts beads not very convex , are they OK ? Hello, can you tell me something about those beads ? they where done at 148 -158A with 6013 electrodes for the sake of going straight from left to right, which was very difficult for me at that point I see I am doing better , going back to basics after struggling on 3F , but still have too much spat...

What I have been said and what I noticed as weel: Passive are better for the ones who wear progressive glasses, because better transparency In real work environment most welders use passive helmets, (I was said) The ones that have LCD are using very expensive ones (about 300 USD and more) I have a c...

Re: metal recovery about 120%

I have seen up to 180%, look at Lincoln or Esab catalogue, on some rod may be 7024 (?) (there are also rutile 180%)

++"iron powder" in the flux, does it mean iron really,(as cast iron) it turns to steel when cooked with the welding heat ?

Re: Weaving vs stringer and tips for a 3G test

I could enlarge the arc somehow. Better heating visibly. But still I needed small z motion to enlarge the puddle. I am supposed to do stringers, are they 1.5 electrode side, about that ? ( the size of the puddle I had without manipulation may be simply I should slow..) https://goo.gl/photos/F8ixQViQ...

Re: Weaving vs stringer and tips for a 3G test

I am doing exercices on a cross shaped block. Good results, nicer beads, more eveness, slag falling, better straightness, longer but tense arc. Making again and again the same gesture is good at any point in beginners training I think. I did that yet 2 months ago, doing again show differences that i...
