Becoming a Welding instructor
Hello Everybody, So like the headliner says I'm thinking of becoming a welding instructor, however I have no idea how to even get started. I am currently welding now and have had some school but I'm not sure what steps I should be taking to further my education in this area. Any advice would be grea...

Re: Melting Cups and Tungstens
cj737, Most of the time I stick to my own work but on occasion I get an opportunity to go back and talk with them. Try to actually teach them something about welding, but seeing as I'm still learning it's more like the blind leading the blind. They just told me they were having this problem and was ...

Re: Melting Cups and Tungstens
Oscar, Thanks for the advice, I'm still new to trying to explain problems without inundating everyone with details. I can not speak about there torch angle because I really have no idea. The guys doing most of the welding aren't actually welders and I've tried when permitting to teach some of them I...

Melting Cups and Tungstens
Okay, I've got some guys at work using a transformer miller syncrowave 250 or more I think. They were using a water cooler for a water cooled torch but where they work it's in a sanding room and the lines would be constantly breaking because of misuse so they switched to an air cooled torch. Now the...

Re: Stick welders
Okay that helps, if it were up to me and i had the money for one i want to get the Miller Dynasty 210 DX TIG Welder. But for now i'll have to settle for a cheaper machine. When the time comes to get the miller is that one worth the money or is there another machine out there that would be better for...

Stick welders
Not sure if this goes here but i was wondering if anyone has any experiance with some 120 dc stick welders. I would get something with more power but i'm in a rural apartment so i can weld but don't have access to anything more than a 120 outlet. I'm trying to keep in practice for stick welding weld...

Re: Aluminum MIG welding
I might have miss identified the gas being used because it's a argon/co2 regulator, not a straight argon one.

Aluminum MIG welding
This question might have already been asked but I'll ask it again anyway. I'm welding production on aluminum boats, 5356, and they are using a 75/25 argon/co2 mix. My question is why would they use this instead of straight argon. Also, I'm using a miller XR-alumafeed powered by the miller alumapower...
