Hand Controls

Hey all, I have a HTP 221 and I am about to tackle a roll cage project on my Miata. I have been using the pedal for all my TIG experience at the bench but I know it will be a pain to use the pedal while working inside the car. I'd like to purchase a hand control but before I do, I'd like to get some...

Re: Polarity

Can you weld in DCEN with Mig and gas? I have done it on thin metal and it seems to hold. Long story short, I have replaced a bunch of metal on my old car and just realized that the machine was set to DCEN instead of DCEP. Now I am worried about strength. That's pretty odd that you were able to get...

Re: Polarity

My simple answer is no and there is no need to. DCEN is reserved for self-shielded flux core wires. Much like stick welding, DCEN provides less penetration. For thin metal this would be less of an issue. Sheet metal (thinner stuff like 16 gauge for those who weld big stufff) for instance doesn't re...

Re: Settings

Thanks for the replies all,

Yes I have the settings for the .025 wire correct as far as clamping force and wheel size.

Hey all, I am using a Lincoln 140hd. I was laying some beads down yesterday in preparation to weld some subframe connectors to my car. The metal thickness is 1/8" so I grabbed some flat 1/8" bar that is 2" wide to set the machine up on to ensure good penetration and wire speed. The do...
