10 ton portable press

The risers are 3X 3/16 square, the platen is 4" heavy channel. The one rolled channel's flange had to be milled, brought down with heavy clamps and re-welded so the flange would be at the same elevation as the other side's flange. My SIL welded it, but I taught him though. :lol: http://s1298.ph...

On a blast furnace steam tracing job we were given surplus German rods that were supposed to be the same thing as 6010 rods. They would fire out the side when struck, our foreman told us to dunk the rods in water. It did help as I recall, but the rods heat so quickly I don't see how the moisture cou...

Here's how I made my rod holder. I used old rectangular tube I saved for such a job. I Blasted the paint off with my HF Blasting cabinet, it did a great job even though the media I was using was medium/fine glass bead.
