Re: New member from B.C.

That is one awesome looking rig. You should be extremely proud of that. I would sure hate to be your helper with a rig like that, I am sure you are very peticular as how it gets treated. I say that as I was hard to work with years ago with a good looking rig. Good job. Thanks! I do have a few thing...

Re: Any tips for cutting.

Do you mean oxy- propane? If so, propane requires more oxygen for the preheat flame and a little slower cutting speed. There are four things required for successful cutting: proper tip size (and clean), oxygen pressure, speed, and clean material. The results you describe could be from a combination ...

Re: What machine should I get?

Never had a problem with the 252s I've used. Run like tanks. Depending on what you want for amps you could go with a new or older 211 that are phenomenal for spool guns. My dealer said the 211 is not recommended for the 30A spool gun, but the 252 is the one I need. Also, the 211 won't have enough o...

What machine should I get?

I have a Syncrowave 200 for AC/DC TIG and stick, and a stand-alone MIG unit, but neither of these can run my spool gun. I've had to use it off of my Vantage 400 mobile unit on CV mode. Ideally, I would like a MIG unit with a spool gun connection to replace my current MIG welder. The one that comes t...

Re: New member from B.C.

Thanks for the reply, Bert. You sound like you'd be my go-to man for what I want to know. I have watched some of Jody's videos, too. Don't know how many hours of vids he has, but going to work through them over the next weeks and months.

New member from B.C.

Hello everyone, I'm a career welder with 30+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, doing both structural steel work and pressure welding, mostly with stick, but sometimes a little flux-core work. I've joined this forum because of recently taking an interest in TIG and MIG welding of alumi...
