Re: Beginner Welds - Input Welcomed!

I find I have to reposition myself often Like was said, dry runs will help with avoiding that but sometimes re-positioning is part of the game. If I can do a weld without moving, I'd rather but sometimes you can't. Not that you'll be doing this with 115v flux-core but a 6G pipe test, for example, w...

Re: What to buy....Help

If you can test and verify it works, consider the Syncrowave. I've always had good luck running Miller machines on a job, though I've never been willing or able to buy one for myself. (Blue paint is expensive! ) It should have pretty much anything you need for TIG or stick welding. Everlast ha...

Work on being consistent and smooth, you'll do fine.

Have you tried .030 wire? I was given a machine kinda like yours, a Forney 125, and I find it runs much better with .30 wire. The smaller wire seems to wet in better with the very limited power of these 115v welders.

Re: Need help understanding flux core with gas, using arc we

Basically, I'm welding a lug into a 34mm thick piece of mild steel. Im using a big idealarc arc welder, set on ~600 amps which is plugged into a wirefeeder with 1.6mm fluxcore wire and using gas. What reasons are there for this set up? Dual shield flux-core is what you're running. The addition of t...
