Yes mild steel DOM. I tried 3/32 rod, but it would stick to the puddle like a magnet when dipping. Maybe a little preheat would prevent that. Up your amps if the filler rod is sticking when dabbing. You're much better off with a single pass of the correct rod she than multiple passes. In fact, some...
There is nothing wrong with that! If you step up to 3/32 rod you could probably do it in 1 pass, save a bunch of time and your HAZ will be much better. Your fillet is not oversized for the material, but a little less won't hurt, any more would be useless or counter productive. I'm assuming this is ...
I'm new to this roll cage stuff and I want to make sure I'm getting enough penetration for it to be safe. This is a 2 passes with 1/16" er70-2 at 130 max amps but I wasn't full pedal. Mostly between 3/4 and 7/8 pedal. What do you guys think? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170128/e4c5256844b...
First off. The torch that comes with that welder is only good for 150 amps and is only good for short bursts over that. By walking the cup at that amperage you were severely overheating the torch head
It is a 67 coupe. I went to make some shakedown passes with a whole new suspension, engine and drivetrain setup and was only able to make 2 passes before they kicked me out. It ran 11.4 @128mph. I didnt even get a chance to launch it hard.
This car will not see any kind of competition. It is only going to be run on test and tune days and street nights maybe 2 or 3 times a year. I already spoke with my tech official and he said these kind of connectors will be acceptable for this reason because they are very strong. Sent from my SAMSUN...
Yes. Definitely going to get a preheat Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk What/where are those parts going on? I know you said roll-cage, but which component/location? Typically door bars to ease ingress/egress. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk Removeable door bar and a removeable main h...
I am in the process of welding up a roll cage in my car and have these connectors that are made out of solid 4130 that need to be welded to my mild steel .120 wall dom tubing. Which filler rod would be best for this application? http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161111/a6b39cb5c1e46886313ae59b6f0d96...
The post flow does seem to be a major gripe with this machine. It is interesting to note that pretty much the same post flow arrangement is used in the Miller Diversion series: "Postflow is preset for one second for every ten amps of output, with a minimum of eight seconds for DC or AC." ...
I wish I could see any of the pictures... I'm going to have to look at building a catch can myself. I've been using an old Mobil 1 quart bottle with a hose dropped in it to catch venting oil from my TDI burping past the EGR valve actuator... It could use a little refinement! If you are on instagram...
I needed a catch can that flowed with the rest of the parts in the engine bay on my 67 Mustang, so i decided to make one. I used .080" 5052 h32 sheet for the body. I made the filter bung on the top out of some 6061 2" diameter round stock that i turned on my old 1919 South Bend 13" la...
I picked this up a couple weeks ago to replace my old Miller Diversion 165. I was looking for an easy, affordable machine that has a better duty cycle, a little more power, and a little more adjustability. I also wanted something that i could buy and have serviced locally, so the other cheaper onlin...
