I am currently in the process of researching plasma cutters.I have a 50 amp welding outlet in my garage .One of the cutters I am looking at says up to 60 output but 46 amp input.This prompted the question .Do plasma cutters have a current surge upon startup like motors ?Will i be okay with the 50 am...

Would like to stay $1k or under .That being said I don’t mind saving a bit more .So my max would be $2k or less.

Looking to upgrade from my 110v Handler 125.Should I stick with a MIG only machine or something that does Multi Process?Will be welding 1/8” to 1/4” regularly. Looking for opinions ?
